Private - your own domain

Custom Domain Temp Mail

Bring a domain you own to Tmailor and receive temporary email on it. Point one MX record to us, then create private, receive-only inboxes like signup@yourdomain.com - free, on iOS, Android, and the web.

Your domain, your private inbox

Custom-domain temp mail combines the privacy of a disposable inbox with the identity of a domain you control.

Use your own domain

Receive at addresses like signup@yourdomain.com or test@yourbrand.io instead of a shared public domain.

Free, no VIP needed

Adding your domain costs nothing inside Tmailor. You only need a domain you already own and access to its DNS.

Just one MX record

Point a single MX record to Tmailor and incoming mail lands in your private, receive-only inbox - no mailbox hosting required.

How custom-domain temp mail works

Your domain controls the address identity, while Tmailor runs the temporary, receive-only inbox behind it. Once your MX record points to Tmailor, mail to your custom address follows the same private model as standard temp mail: incoming-only, messages visible for about 24 hours, and reopenable later through token-based reuse. It is the disposable-inbox workflow you already know - only on a domain you own instead of a shared public domain.

How to add your domain

The screenshots below are from the iOS app; the steps are the same on Android and on the web. Sign in, open Manage Domains, add your domain, update one MX record, then wait for verification.

Tmailor Settings screen with the Manage Domains option

Open Manage Domains

Sign in to Tmailor, open Settings, and tap Manage Domains. This is where you add a domain, track its verification status, and remove it later.

Add the domain you own

Tap Add Your Domain, enter the domain or subdomain you control (for example mydomain.com), and confirm. It appears in your list, ready for DNS setup.

Update your MX records

Open Domain Details. Remove any existing MX records first, then add the single MX record Tmailor shows you in your DNS panel - Cloudflare, Namecheap, GoDaddy, and similar. The exact values appear on screen; the example below is what the app currently shows.

Type Host / Name Value Priority TTL
MX @ mail.2fa.vn 10 3600

Wait for verification

Tmailor checks your DNS automatically. While records propagate the domain shows Setup is not complete; once it verifies, the status turns ready and you can create custom-domain inboxes.

Custom domain vs public domain

Both are free and useful. Choose a custom domain for control and identity, or a public domain for instant, zero-setup use.

Factor Custom domain Public domain
Setup One-time DNS - a single MX record Instant, no setup
Address identity Your own domain or subdomain Shared public domain
Blocklist exposure Lower - the domain is private to you Higher on sites that flag known disposable domains
Best for Projects, QA, privacy, branded testing Fast one-off or instant throwaway use
Cost Free - you bring the domain Free

Who custom-domain temp mail is for

Developers & QA teams

Create purpose-built inboxes to test registration, OTP delivery, and password-reset flows.

Freelancers & indie builders

Use domains you already own for lightweight inboxes on side projects and launch pages.

Privacy-first users

Show your own domain in sign-up flows instead of a visibly public disposable one.

Multi-channel operators

Keep separate addresses for many sign-up channels without cluttering a permanent inbox.

What you need before you start

A short checklist now saves you from getting stuck mid-setup.

  • A domain or subdomain you own and can edit in DNS.
  • A Tmailor account signed in on iOS, Android, or the web.
  • Access to your DNS panel (Cloudflare, Namecheap, GoDaddy, or another registrar).
  • A few minutes for DNS changes - and patience while they propagate.

You do not need to buy separate mailbox hosting. You are simply routing incoming mail to Tmailor for private, receive-only use.

Frequently asked questions

Is custom-domain temp mail really free?

Yes. Tmailor does not charge a separate fee for the feature. You only need to own the domain and be able to edit its DNS records.

Does it work on Android and the web too?

Yes. The feature is available on iOS, Android, and the web. This guide uses iOS screenshots, but the setup flow is the same across platforms.

Do I need a VIP account to add my own domain?

No. Adding a custom domain does not require a VIP plan.

What DNS changes do I need to make?

Follow the MX instructions on the Domain Details screen: remove any conflicting MX records, then add the MX record Tmailor shows (host @, value mail.2fa.vn, priority 10, TTL 3600).

How long does verification take?

It depends on DNS propagation. Some domains verify within minutes, while others take longer depending on your DNS provider and cache timing.

Can I use a subdomain instead of the root domain?

Yes, in many cases. Enter the subdomain you control and set its MX record the same way.

Can I send email from a custom-domain address?

No. Custom-domain addresses are receive-only, just like standard temp mail inboxes on Tmailor.
